The Blues Brothers together with Acting Mayor Carmelo Versace visiting the National Museum of Magna Grecia. Hosted by the Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria, the Original Blues Brothers Band, one of the most famous in the American and world music scene, was literally amazed by the beauty of the Riace Bronzes kept inside the Reggio Museum. “A great honor to be here” said Lou Marini and Steve Cropper, together with the other musicians of the band, celebrating the beauty of the two bronze statues. “We arrived yesterday and we had the opportunity to take a look at the city. This place is fantastic. Tonight we will have the pleasure of playing in Siderno, the band is ready. It will be really beautiful” said the leader of the historic American band again at the shadow of greek warriors.

“An extraordinary event – said the acting mayor Carmelo Versace on the sidelines of the visit to the Museum – a concert that represents an important piece of music history in Calabria and in the South. It is an absolute first in our region, and we wanted through this show we pay homage to a truly important territory for us such as the Ionian one, with a concert on the Lungomare di Siderno, as the opening of the Festival dedicated to the blue flag, which is also a hymn to respect for the environment and our splendid sea. Brothers for the words of great affection they addressed to our Metropolitan City. We are truly happy to have hosted them this morning, choosing the Museum as the venue for this welcome, which constitutes the ideal embrace of the entire city for these extraordinary artists who have made the history of music worldwide”.
