Seven out of ten members of the Provincial Council of Vibo Valentia resigned due to conflicts with the president of the body, Corrado L’Andolina. The councilors Vincenzo Pagnotta, Serena Lo Schiavo and Carmine Franze, from the centre-right, signed the resignation document; Alessandro Lacquaniti, Gianpiero Calafati and Nicola Papa, from the center area, and Antonino Schinella, from the Democratic Party.
The three directors who did not resign are Vincenzo Lentini, Carmine Mangiardi and Nicola Lasorba.
The basis for the resignation was the issue of the stabilization of social inclusion trainees, which the resigning councilors wanted to discuss during the session held yesterday before the budget, contrary to L’Andolina’s intentions.
President L’Andolina, despite the resignation of the seven councilors, still remains in office and will be able to call elections for the new provincial council within three months.
