Decisive attitude and fighter’s step: the prefect Rose Mary Padovan he talks about synergies and rejects protagonism. «I am happy to have found police forces» he underlines «accustomed to collaborating and moving in harmony: it is important to obtain good results. It is a strong point».
Having served in the Ministry of the Interior for 34 years, the prefect has the experience necessary to read the dynamics of a a province that is only apparently “calm” but which, on the contrary, represents a crossroads of interests and a hub between the traditional ‘ndrangheta and nomadic crime. A province also characterized by a flourishing drug market that affects – the numbers confirm it unequivocally – the capital city.
“Intelligent people,” explains Padovano, “enter on tiptoe and it takes time to understand the peculiar characteristics of the territory.”
Calabria excites the Government representative: “The assignment to Cosenza was a nice surprise and I come with passion, enthusiasm and dedication. An excellent collaborative relationship has been created with the local authorities and I promise to visit, little by little, the municipalities that make up this large province. I will dedicate all my energies to this territory, giving it the utmost attention and, above all, maintaining the humility to listen. It is precisely through listening that we can operate better and achieve goals. This is a complex and articulated reality but rich in positive resources”.
