The Rugby Rende Club officially announces the birth of its Open Club, a project that promotes inclusion, welcome and participation through the universal language of rugby.
The initiative was born from an idea by Juan Rossello, who over the last year has collaborated with Arcigay and with a group of young people who, approaching this sport for the first time, have found a new family in Rugby Rende.
The new Open Club involves the inclusion of young people belonging to the LGBTQIA+ community and not in the club’s activities and training, with the aim of enhancing diversity as a tool for collective growth and social cohesion. The space will be safe and welcoming, open to all, where sport becomes an opportunity to meet, express and build new bonds.
«This project represents an important step for us not only on a sporting level, but also on a human and social level – declares president Salvatore Pezzano -. We invite everyone to be part of this path of openness and participation, a concrete example of how sport can generate a positive impact on the territory and on people.”
The captain of the Open Club, Margherita Perri, is also enthusiastic and underlines: «The Open Club is an opportunity for anyone who wants to get closer to our community, share training, experiences and fun. I thank president Pezzano, my teammates, coaches and collaborators for the welcome and support shown from the beginning.”
Rugby Rende invites institutions, associations and citizens to support this initiative, a symbol of sportsmanship, inclusion and community, and to participate in the open activities that will be held at Campo Mazzuca in Rende, a place where the spirit of rugby combines with that of inclusion.
