The Sicilian Region with 70 million tries to buy back the 33 buildings sold off by Cuffaro

The budget, 70 million in total, has already been allocated in the tables attached to the basic text of the Budget which is about to begin its journey in commission at the Sicilian Regional Assembly. And with this little treasure, over the next year the Region will try again to purchase the 33 buildings that it sold in 2007 to a real estate fund.
It is the second attempt to recover an operation defined by many as unsuccessful (if not speculative) started in March 2007 by the second government of Totò Cuffaro. At the time, the buildings – which house the main departments and peripheral structures – were sold to a real estate fund to raise cash.
