An ingenious but completely illegal system, designed to bypass the public electricity network and guarantee free energy to entire homes, was discovered by the carabinieri of the Bagnara Calabra station during a check in the area. The operation made it possible to identify perfectly functioning illegal connections, capable of ensuring constant energy to affected homes. For two people the arrest was triggered.
The checks were also extended to Palmi, where the military ascertained other clandestine connections: in this case, two subjects were reported. According to estimates, the overall damage to the subtracted energy amounts to around 25 thousand euros.
