“They celebrated a birthday by inviting everyone except my brother.” It is from this sentence, simple and terrible, that the public denunciation of the young streamer from Cosenza Saetta, the stage name of a 21-year-old boy with a huge following on social media, begins. With a video released online, he told the story of his little brother, the victim of repeated episodes of bullying.
«Christian is a special boy, if you understand what I mean – he explains – and for years he has suffered teasing, exclusion, discrimination. I’m tired of staying silent: I want to bring out what’s happening and the silence of certain parents.” His words, in a few hours, went around the web, shining a spotlight on an affair that, as often happens, had remained hidden behind silence and shame.
The first episode recounted is apparently banal but deeply painful: «All his classmates were invited to a party, except him. He came home in tears asking me why he was always left out. How do you explain it to him?”. A gesture of exclusion which, in adolescence, can turn into a deep and lasting wound.
But the story doesn’t end here. «Some comrades – adds Saetta – asked him to undress during a video call, laughing and recording him. When our mother tried to talk about it with the other parents, they all denied it.”
