Orrico, the “administrative syndrome” still affects the M5S. Why is the Movement you lead unable to be attractive to Calabrian voters in the local elections?
«I read an interesting analysis by Professor Roberto De Luca, a sociologist of political phenomena, on voting in the recent administrative elections. It is clear that the strength of a coalition is dictated by the candidates on the lists since the consensus in these competitions, rather than in political or European elections, is directed in favor of the candidate who is a friend, relative or who is recognised, not always positively, in the area. The Movement often makes up its lists with citizens who are trying their hand at the competition for the first time, with a great desire to commit, not tied to particular interests. Think about the complexity of Reggio Calabria where for precisely these reasons, despite the efforts of the territorial group and the provincial coordinator, it was not possible to build a sufficiently competitive list. This is why we must work harder and better in identifying references in the territories, valorising our activists or representatives of civil society. A bit like what happened in the regional elections where the M5S list of the Northern Constituency, made up of outgoing councilors and deputies, councilors and municipal councilors, representatives of civil society, came close to 10% of the preferences”.
