In the early afternoon of yesterday, at the Court of Lamezia Terme, the Judge for preliminary investigations, at the request of the local Public Prosecutor’s Office, validated the arrest decree of a crime suspect, issued by the Public Prosecutor last Friday, against Pasquale Colelli, 30 years old, for the murder of Emiliano Torcasio.
On the night of Friday 24 October, the military intervened in the Ginepri area of Lamezia Terme, where a passer-by had reported the presence of a body lying on the ground in a pool of blood. The initial investigations, carried out also thanks to the staff of the Survey Section of the Provincial Command of Catanzaro and a forensic doctor, had made it possible to identify clear clues attributable to a murder at the crime scene. In particular, some stab wounds were found on the victim’s body, at the neck level.
During the same morning, the alleged perpetrator of the crime, accompanied by his trusted lawyer, had spontaneously presented himself at the Carabinieri barracks in Viale Marconi, and had agreed to answer the prosecutor’s questions about the incident. The man, based on the serious indications of guilt that emerged against him and the possible risk of escape, had been declared in custody and imprisoned at the Catanzaro district house. Further investigations are underway aimed at reconstructing the dynamics and motive of the murder.
