About 11:00 am, a team of the detachment of the Cirò Marina Fire Brigade intervened in the municipality of Torre Melissa, in via Pontino 18, following a fire signaling that affected a room used as a linen deposit on the first floor of the Hotel Melissa building.
Upon arrival on the spot, the firefighters found that, from a window on the first floor, smoke and flames came out: then the vehicles were positioned and, with the aid of the car, to arrive at the windows to start suddenly the shutdown operations.
During the operations, the immediate evacuation of guests and staff was arranged until the end of the intervention and the safety of the places; Then access to the area affected by the fire on the first floor, to the accommodation rooms on the second floor, and part of the lateral atrium ground floor, the latter until the removal of the rubble and residues of the fire was also banned.
There are no injuries.
