Transport, Aeroitalia inaugurates new routes from Perugia. There is also Lamezia Terme

Inauguration weekend for the Perugia S. Francesco d'Assisi international airport. On Saturday morning Aeroitalia inaugurated the new Perugia-Lampedusa route, with flights will be operated every Saturday until October 5th. On Sunday it was the turn of the inauguration of the new connections between Perugia and Lamezia Terme, scheduled with two weekly frequencies until next September 15th. Two routes that enrich the Aeroitalia network to/from «San Francesco d'Assisi», which in addition to the routes to Milan, Bergamo and Linate will from today offer new services to southern Italy. Furthermore, from today the carrier will also reactivate flights between Perugia and Olbia, to reach a total of 5 destinations and 24 weekly flights operated to/from the Umbrian airport.

He says Gaetano Intrieri, CEO of Aeroitalia: «I am pleased to inaugurate further routes that will depart from Perugia airport for Summer24. With the introduction of these flights, Aeroitalia further consolidates its expansion in Italy, ensuring more accessible and sustainable travel. The opening of these new air connections will allow us to stimulate the local economy, both directly with Aeroitalia and in the broader tourism sector.” Umberto Solimeno, general director of Umbria airport, comments: «With the new Aeroitalia connections we are consolidating a season full of connections for our airport, which in these summer months will handle up to 120 scheduled flights per week. We are happy that the Aeroitalia company has decided to invest in Umbria, increasing the network of destinations and in particular providing connections with Lombardy, Sardinia, Calabria and Sicily. To continue to grow also in the quality of the services provided and as part of the infrastructure development program, we have recently announced further new services which will improve roads, parking, services and comfort for passengers and users of the airport”.
