Serious road accident during the night along State Road 106, in the Borgia area. Around 2.30 am, for reasons still under investigation, three cars – a Volkswagen Passat, an Audi and a Fiat 600 – collided at kilometer 180, requiring emergency services.
A total of seven people were involved in the accident. Five occupants were injured, one of them in serious condition. Upon the arrival of the fire brigade teams of the Catanzaro Provincial Command, coming from the headquarters and the Soverato detachment, the injured had already been extracted by the 118 health workers and transferred to the hospitals for the necessary treatment.
State road closed until rescue operations complete
The firefighters ensured the safety of the area and the vehicles involved, allowing safety conditions to be restored. To allow rescue operations and the removal of the damaged vehicles, State Road 106 remained temporarily closed to traffic. Traffic was restored at the end of the intervention, which ended around 5am.
