The Sicilian writer Cristina Cassar Scalia He will receive the Massimo Troisi 2025 prize, literature section, in the event promoted by Marefestival Salina in collaboration with the University of Messina and Bonanzinga Library: Wednesday 25 June at 5 pm in the Aula Magna del Rectorate for the presentation – signs copies of the new yellow, published by Einaudi Libero, entitled “Benvenuto crime – an investigation by Scipione Macchiavelli”. After the rector’s greetings, Prof.ssa Giovanna Spatari, Daniela Bonanzinga The author who will talk about her career and the unpublished character to whom she has given life, a “lover of good life and not very expert in crimes”, as he defined him, will interview. The appointment will be moderated by the journalist Massimiliano Cavaleriartistic director of the Troisi and founder prize and organizer of the event together with colleagues Patrizia Casale And Francesco Cappello.
The students will also take part – editors of the head of the University Universome, coordinated by Giulia Cavallarowho, before the meeting, will make a video interview with Dr. Scalia, who will be published on their magazine, very followed by the university community. The delivery of the recognition in memory of the Neapolitan actor will follow, already assigned in previous editions to other authoritative writers including Margaret Mazzantini, Daniel Speck, Fiorello chain, Luigi Dal Cin. Cristina Cassar Scalia She graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Catania, lives in Aci Castello and practices the profession of ophthalmologist.
He made his debut in 2014 with the novel on the second summer, followed the following year the sirocco rooms, set in Sicily. In 2018 with black sand he turned to yellow by introducing the character of the deputy chief Vanina Guarrasi of the Catania mobile team. The following year he obtained the Racalmare Literary Prize Leonardo Sciascia.
The investigations of Guarrasi continue in 2019 with the logic of the Lampara, in 2020 with the climb of the Saponari and together with Giancarlo De Cataldo and Maurizio De Giovanni, three steps for a crime. From the novels of Scalia is the Vanina series – a deputy chief in Catania, broadcast on Canale 5 since 2024 and whose script worked the same writer.
