Donald Trump said, in the phone call with Voloymyr Zelensky and NATO leaders – in which Prime Minister Meloni also participated with the other EU representatives -, that Russian President Vladimir Putin does not want a ceased to cease but prefers a global agreement to put an end to the war in Ukraine. The Axios journalist, Barak Ravid, writes it on X, citing a source present at the call. “I think that a quick peace agreement is better than a ceasefire,” Trump himself said according to the source that defined the phone call with the Ukrainian leader and that of NATO “not easy”.

After this meeting “I prepare the table” for the negotiations between Putin and Zelensky he said Trump in an interview with Fox News on the Air Force One. “It is not up to me to negotiate an agreement for Ukraine, but I can prepare the table to negotiate,” he said. “Our next meeting will feature President Zelensky, President Putin and probably me too,” he underlined.

The US President then reiterated with Fox who will not be happy if Putin will not accept the ceased in Ukraine. Trump also added that he could start “appreciating again” Hillary Clinton after the former Democratic State Secretary of State said he would nominate him for the Nobel Peace Prize if he had negotiated an agreement in Ukraine and had not “surrendered” to Russia. “It was very kind. It could be nice again,” said the president in an interview with Fox.
