The United States has asked Americans in Iran to leave the country immediately or to “keep a low profile” and be “always in contact” with family and friends.
“Due to strengthened security measures, road closures, public transport disruptions and internet blockages,” reads an alert on the website of the virtual embassy in Tehran.
American citizens, if safe to do so, should consider leaving Iran by land to Armenia or Turkey “immediately.”
Otherwise, we warn “find a safe place, avoid demonstrations, keep a low profile”.

Diplomacy and tensions after the Iran-Israel conflict
“The talks began after eight turbulent months,” Araghchi said, citing the breakdown in negotiations during the conflict between Iran and Israel in June 2025.
«After the 12-day war, the mistrust and this represents a challenge on the negotiation path. We must first overcome this mistrust and define a framework for negotiations,” said the head of Tehran’s diplomacy, adding that “if this approach and the perspective of the other side persist, we can reach a framework for negotiations.”
Continuation of negotiations: decisions in Tehran and role of the USA
Regarding the possibility that the talks will continue in the next few days, Araghchi said that «the continuation of the negotiations will depend on the other party and, of course, on the decisions taken at Tehran.”
