Pending the reactivation of the degree course in Veterinary Medicine, the regional councilor Antonello Talerico has already advanced toThe Rector of Umg, Prof. Cudaa proposal to identify the seat of the future veterinary hospital: Roman park.
According to this, the structure – an area of about 32,000 square meters – would represent an ideal solution to be converted for hospital purposes. An opportunity not only to give impetus to the university training project, but also to return functionality and value to a part of the city which has remained unfinished for years and at the center of numerous critical issues.
“Park Romani – explains Talerico – has an enviable logistical position, thanks to the presence of the subway that easily connects it to the whole city, including the south area. It is a strategic, comfortable and functional choice, which deserves to be seriously deepened.”
The proposal has already been brought to the attention of the rector of the Magna Graecia University and in the next few days a new meeting is scheduled to evaluate the start of a technical, administrative and structural investigation, aimed at verifying the feasibility of the project. The assessments of urban and construction compatibility will be fundamental, in addition to the estimate of the costs for the purchase and conversion of the structure.
“The construction of the veterinary hospital in Park Romani – adds Talerico – would represent a solution to overcome the failure to use the structure and to cheer the damage that the story caused to the city, citizens and investors, helping to revive an important area of the city.”
The regional councilor says he is confident in institutional support for the initiative: “I am sure that many municipal councilors could support this proposal, including the director Giovanni Costa, who first urged me to evaluate this solution.”
