Yet another Scam to the detriment of an elderly woman who has shown last Wednesday by the traffic police on the A2 Mediterranean motorway. The lady had been reached by a phone call with which it was communicated that the son had been the victim of a road accident; A woman and a child was also involved, she said, seriously injured and transported to the hospital. The old woman was asked to pay a large sum of money to prevent her son from being reported.
This is how the agents of the subsection of Palmi and the Vibo Valentia traffic police section identified and chased the vehicle, intimating passengers to stop. The occupants, a man and a woman, following a search were in possession of two thousand two hundred and fifty euros, as well as a large bag, skillfully hidden, containing gold, bracelets, watches and various jewelry. Conducted in the office, also following the investigative results until then carried out through the Carabinieri Command of Reggio Calabria, it emerged that the sum found in possession of the couple, as much as the gold and the jewelry found, had been previously delivered by the same Madam, who, due to the news received, had fallen into a state of awe and agitation. The authors of the crime were placed at the underlying arrest, then validated by the investigating judge of the court of Vibo Valentia.
