During the night, unknown persons set a fire at the construction site in via degli Artigiani, in front of the Vibo Valentia bus terminal, where an important intervention is underway on the city’s underground services for the construction of the so-called “Maione Project”.
An episode that Mayor Enzo Romeo intends to strongly condemn: “We cannot accept that these criminal resurgences can overshadow the work of growth and social recovery of our city, which continues in the name of legality. A city that wants to develop cannot ignore the conclusion of fundamental public works such as the one underway, which has been the subject of a cowardly arson attack. All our closeness and solidarity goes to the company and the workers, as well as the condemnation we address to those who believe they can bend the public interest and legality to criminal will.
I am sure that the judiciary and the police will be able to bring the perpetrators to justice. For our part – concludes the mayor – I can assure that the municipal administration will continue its work incessantly, ensuring all the necessary support to the investigative bodies and to the many companies involved in the area”.
