A man was arrested and placed under house arrest in Vibo Valentia by the agents of the Flying Squad, coordinated by the local Public Prosecutor’s Office, in execution of a measure issued by the investigating judge, with the accusation of facilitation and exploitation of prostitution. He allegedly set up, together with other people, a ‘consolidated organisation’ for the management of a prostitution ring in an apartment in Vibo Valentia.

In addition to the recipient of the precautionary measure, five women of Italian, South American and Chinese origin were investigated for having participated in the same crime..
The police investigation was triggered by a call to the emergency number reporting the presence of a city brothel. The investigative findings, also supported by telephone and environmental interceptions, have allowed us to verify the presence of a structured group of individuals dedicated to the facilitation and exploitation of prostitution, composed of the suspects who, in various capacities, allegedly procured and managed, over time, the activity of at least 19 prostitutes. In particular the suspects were responsible for managing the arrival of women involved in prostitution and all types of travel, providing them with accommodation used to carry out the activity, also ensuring food supplies and laundry services, all, of course, in exchange for money.
Furthermore, the management of six apartments emerged with the imposition of a price list for rent and transport with a pre-established division of the earnings received.
