The entrepreneurs were subjected to preliminary interrogation Eugenio and Ortenzia Guarascio, aged 70 and 59, subjected to residence orders last Wednesday as part of the investigation conducted by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Vibo Valentia into the alleged crimes in the management of the Vazzano composting plant. Eugenio and Ortenzia Guarascio are investigated in their capacity as sole directors, respectively, of the companies «4EL Group srl» and «Eco Call». He was also questioned Francesco Currado, 70 years old, technical manager of the composting plant. Before the investigating judge, Barbara Borelli, the Guarascio and Currado brothers rejected the accusations against them, psubmitting documentation, also containing some regulations, to demonstrate the lawfulness of their conduct. A total of 11 people are being investigated in the investigation, accused of environmental pollution and, for various reasons, of illicit disposal of waste, forgery, revelation and use of official secrecy and abuse of office. According to the Vibo Prosecutor's Office, tons of waste, classified as fertilizer, were illegally disposed of on agricultural land in the provinces of Vibo Valentia, Catanzaro and Reggio Calabria. Eugenio and Ortenzia Guarascio are defended by the lawyers Francesco Gambardella, Giovanni Vecchio and Simona La Falce, while Francesco Currado is assisted by the lawyer Nicola Veneziano.
