The data for separate waste collection on the banks of the Strait continue to worsen. The awaited and announced revolution of the new collection system is slow to manifest itself, indeed the small goal of 40% so laboriously achieved is now lost. Despite the promises made last year by both the Municipality and the company that manages environmental services Ecologia Oggi (65% within 18 months) the data is in free fall. The feeling is that this will continue until the new administration takes office (the vote will be held in May), a not exactly reassuring prospect also in terms of costs and Tari taxes, because the more undifferentiated it is produced, the more the disposal costs increase.
But the real turnaround could instead come from Catanzaro. Arrical, the single authority that manages water and waste throughout Calabria, has convened the board of directors for Thursday.
