The Ssd UniMe writes a page of history that will never be forgotten. Thanks to the girls coached by Paola Laganà with her collaborator Silvia Migale who in the final in Enna Sicilian champions graduated by beating WeKondor Catania, a reference company in Sicily in the youth sector. A match played equally by two excellent teams which perhaps found the most logical conclusion in the tie break. This can be understood from the progress of the opening set won by the Etna team after an endless series of advantages (32-30).

UniMe changes gear in the central partials which wins easily (12-25 and 21-25), loses the fourth at the end of the credits (25-23) but then starts to weave its web again in the tie break which leads to the finish with a gap of six points, eloquent on the state of physical as well as mental form of the young volleyball players from Messina.

“We are experiencing immense joy at the end of a day that will remain in the memory of all of us – said coach Paola Laganà -. The girls were fantastic, determined throughout the match and even in difficult moments they never showed signs of slowing down. They deserve this title and above all to be able to represent Sicily at the national finals in Cesena (from 28 May to 2 June ed.)”.

It is an extraordinary result never achieved which rewards not only the little athletes from Messina, but also the coach Paola Laganà, the head of the volleyball sector Salvatore De Domenico, the manager Gianluca Mazzeo and the sports director of Unime Sergio Naccari.

The Ssd Unime Under 14 squad is made up of the following players: Flora Amara, Elisa Arcidiacono, Giordana Incardona, Elisa Irrera, Alice Mazzeo Alessia Parisi, Eleonora Pino, Desirée Raffa, Sofia Rizzo, Alejandra Salgado, Clara Scalici, Sara Mazzeo, Beatrice Scimone, Martina Dodisi.
