On the dispute concerning 95 workers of the Gruppo Distribuzione Italia company in Lamezia Terme, owner of the ConTe.it contract, «I have presented a motion in the Regional Council which commits the Council to urge, by any means and with urgency, the national government so that a table can be established, in the shortest possible time, at the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy to address and resolve all the problems, as requested by the workers and the trade unions». The regional councilor of Calabria and group leader of the Democratic Party Ernesto Alecci declared this in a note.
«In an incomprehensible way – he continues – on 25 March ConTe.it communicated its intention to interrupt, after over 13 years of shared growth, the collaboration with the Italian Distribution Group, motivating the choice with reasons linked to economic sustainability. In this way, the future and dignity of 95 workers is put at risk, with negative economic repercussions on the entire territory.”
