«Acceleration» is the watchword that Svimez places on the single SEZ front in the South. After the recommendation of the Court of Auditors – Central Control Section on the management of State administrations regarding the need to approve the strategic plan, overcoming the “scheme” launched on 26 July last, it is now the association for the development of industry in Midday to reinforce this need. The data emerges from the latest Svimez report on the economy and society of the South presented just a few days ago and in which the Zes reform is defined as still “to be completed” ensuring political guidance and “coordination with European policies and Pnrr”.
Svimez recognizes in the Single Special Economic Zone «the attempt, after many years of horizontal policies, to set up an organic strategy for the industrial strengthening of the South through the return to a principle of selectivity, functional to the objective of strengthening some national and European strategic supply chains identified in the Plan”. And according to the association, the “true” SEZ potential does not lie so much in the tools provided, although important – tax credit, administrative simplification – «but rather in the possibility of orienting and coordinating, on the basis of strategies defined at macro-area level, also the other territorial development programming (Pnrr and cohesion funds)”.
