A crocodile yesterday mauled a woman who was bathing in a river in theEastern Indonesia: this was announced by the police and local residents who managed to recover only parts of the victim’s body.
The victim of the attack
The 54 year old Halima Rahakbauw he was swimming in a river in the village of Walion the islands Malukuafter spending the morning searching for clams, when she was attacked. A neighbor of hers, Rustam Ilyassaid relatives and friends began searching when the woman did not return home. After finding a sandal and part of her body in the river, villagers reported the incident to the police who killed the reptile.

«The villagers had to open the belly of the crocodile to remove some parts of the victim’s body,” a local police officer said. “The crocodile was quite large, about four meters long,” neighbor Ilyas said.
Previous fatal attack
Last Sunday, a miner 63-year-old had been killed by a crocodile near a river on the island of Bangkaoff the east coast of Sumatra.
