The Municipality of Botricello is among the first bodies in Calabria to have drawn up, as required by law, the three-year plan for IT in public administration. This is the programming tool through which the strategic direction on digitalisation and transformation is given. A legal obligation, among other things, expected from 2020, as a point of reference for local administrations in relation to the topic of the development of information systems.
The Plan was drawn up by the head of the Innovation and Digital Transition Sector, Dr. Antonio Scumaci. This new sector was strongly desired by the current Municipal Administration precisely to guide the paths of modern development of the Institution. The same manager was also appointed responsible for the transition to digital, a figure foreseen by the Digital Administration Code (legislative decree 7 March 2005, n. 82) with the role of leading the organization towards the changes required by digitalisation.
In less than a year this choice has led to very important results. The Plan, in fact, highlights how five loans have been obtained in this area, all connected to the PNRR. The first, called Citizen’s Experience, with funding of 79,922 euros; the second for digital notifications for an amount of 23,147 euros; the third for Cloud Enablement for 77,897 euros; then the Extension of the use of the digital national registry and for the Adhesion to the digital Civil Status for 6,173.20 euros, finally the Adoption of the PagoPa platform for 1,821 euros. Overall, therefore, financing was obtained for just under 190 thousand euros.
The Mayor Saverio Simone Puccio he underlined “the foresight with which our Administration has acted, obtaining extraordinary results thanks to the choices made since taking office. The creation of this Sector, obviously hindered by the usual right-thinking people, has led to having a cutting-edge body, in which innovation and digital transition represent strengths and not mere statements. Credit must be given to the director Scumaci and his staff for having always operated with caution and responsibility, looking with courage at the choices that guide the present and future of the public administration”.
