The adoption of the short week starting from the school year that has just begun by the high schools of Sant’Agata Militello and Capo d’Orlando, with educational activities spread over five days a week and Saturdays free, is at the center of the discussion between school managers, mayors of the Nebrodi and owners of public transport companies.
A tense and at times fiery debate took place yesterday in the council chamber in Sant’Agata Militello, in which sometimes distant and discordant positions emerged, especially due to the logistical implications of the new timetable structure of the “Lucio Piccolo” high school in Capo d’Orlando (8-14.30), of the “Sciascia-Fermi” high school (8.10-14.10) and of the Iti “Torricelli-Tomasi di Lampedusa” by Sant’Agata Militello (8-14.30). Without prejudice to the value and methods of educational management of the new model adopted in the context of school autonomy with a resolution of the collegial bodies, after an interlocution started last year with the Metropolitan City of Messina, the directors Maria Larissa Bollaci, Teresa Santomarco Terrano and Tamara Micale reiterated the full guarantee of a proposal suited to the 360° educational and personal needs of the students.
