Due to the exceptionally high temperatures expected for the next few days, the mayor of Laureana di Borrello Alberto Morano signed ordinance No. 17 of 09/11/2026, ordering the suspension of in-person teaching activities to protect the health of students and school staff.
The details of the provision
Suspension period: from Monday 14 to Saturday 19 September 2026 (inclusive).
Institutions involved: all nursery, primary and lower secondary schools present in the municipal area and belonging to the “Laureana-Galatro-Feroleto-Melicucco” IC.
Return date: lessons will resume regularly on Monday 21 September 2026.
The decision was necessary to prevent the risks linked to the anomalous heat wave and guarantee the well-being of pupils, teachers and ATA staff within the school facilities.
