Two men in prison – Domenico Bucolo (born in Messina in 1990) and resident in Barcelona, and Santo Genovese Santo (born in Barcelona in 1990 and resident in Reggio Emilia) – suspected of murder and illegal carrying of weapons, both aggravated by the mafia method and purpose. The crime in question, committed in 2010 in Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto against Ciurar Petrea Romanian citizen, would have been conceived and executed as retaliation against the Roma communityheld responsible for several thefts in the territory under the mafia dominion of the group “Saint John”, attributable to the mafia clan of the “barcellonese”, which included the two suspects arrested today.
To carry out the measure, in Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto and in the province of Reggio Emilia, the ROS carabinieri with the support of the Provincial Commands of Messina and Emilia following an order issued by the GIP of Messina upon compliant request of the DDA. The highly circumstantial picture was reconstructed thanks to the investigations carried out by the Carabinieri of the ROS-Anticrime Section of Messina and the Criminal Police Section of the Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto Prosecutor’s Office. The contribution of a collaborator of justice, affiliated to the mafia family of “people of Barcelona“.
