Bad weather: today orange alert on Messina and its province, yellow in the rest of Sicily

A low pressure area has moved from Tunisia to the southern Tyrrhenian Sea, determining an intensification of ventilation and a marked instability first on Sicily, in extension to Sardinia and then to the rest of the southern regions. On the basis of the provisions available, the Department of Civil Protection with the regions involved has issued a warning of adverse weather conditions.
Already From the evening of February 1 «Precipitation from scattered to widespread even of a reverse or temporal nature on Sicily in extension from night to Sardinia and Calabriaand, from the morning of Sunday 2, in Campania, Basilicata and Puglia. The phenomena will be accompanied by high intensity showers, electrical activities and strong gusts of wind. There are also winds from strong to south-eastern storms on Sicily, in extension to Calabria and Puglia, with possible storms along the coasts exposed ».
On the basis of the phenomena in progress and scheduled, it was evaluated for today, Sunday 2 February, ‘Orange alert’ on part of Sicily and Sardinia, ‘yellow alert’ on the remaining sectors of Sicily and on most of Sardinia, on the entire territories of CalabriaBasilicata, Campania, Puglia, Molise and on part of Emilia-Romagna.
