The last chapter. Of a Anti -mafia investigation conducted by the District Anti -Mafia Directorate of Catanzaro in 2018 to shed light on some contracts deemed “suspicious”. An investigation that also had effects on regional policy because it led to the original oincrimination of the then president of the junta, Mario Oliverio, subsequently acquitted with a large formula definitively.
The last chapter wrote the criminal court of Catanzaro with the absolute sentence issued against eight defendants.
These are: Giorgio Ottavio Barbieri, Vincenzo De Caro, Francesco Tucci, Luigi Zinno and Pasquale Latella, Marco Oliviero, Damiano Mele and Carmine Guido ended up trial for abuse of office. The Judging College acquitted them with the formula “because the fact is not required by law as a crime”.
For their part, the indicted in trial had always protested innocent. The position of the eight acquitted had been removed from the main vein of the procedure.
The “Desolate Lande” investigation referred to alleged offenses in some public contracts, of the event of Piazza Bilotti in Cosenza, to the Avosuperficie of Scalea and the very modern cable car of the Lorica ski resort.
