The award ceremony of the National “Dario Galli” literature competitionnow in its sixth edition, while the sending of the work for the seventh edition are already being closed, it has represented a moment of great emotional and cultural intensity, capable of involving not only the participants in the competition but also a careful and passionate audience that followed the event on social media exceeding 1000 views. The atmosphere was vibrant, animated by the presence of illustrious guests and a program full of suggestive moments.
A moment touching the evening was the one in which Donatella Gallihonorary president of the prize and daughter of the poet Dario Galli, read the poetry that the father dedicated to her when she was born and then handed over to the winner, Caterina Perrone, two volumes: one the collection of all the writings published by the poet and the other a collection of part of the awards he had in his life. This gesture represented an ideal bridge between the memory of the great poet and the new generation of writers, underlining the value of cultural continuity and the transmission of literary knowledge.
Italo Leone, president of the competition, took the floor to illustrate Caterina Perrone’s book with passion and competence, explaining the reasons that led the jury to choose that work as a winner. One of the most original and intriguing aspects of the evening was the dialogue between Caterina Perrone and two jurors, Giovanna Villella and Michela Cimmino. In an unusual format, the winner extracted some words chosen at random from her book from a bag and explained why she had used them, giving life to an intense and spontaneous conversation in which words became absolute protagonists.
