Jonathan Milan won the eighth stage of the Tour de France, Saint-Méen Le Grand-Laval of 171.4 km won at the sprint. Tadej Pogacar has kept the yellow jersey of the leader of the ranking. It was from 27 July 2019 that an Italian did not win a stop on the tour. Fasting lasted 113 stages and 2,176 days.

«I still have to understand what we have done, because when you leave you always have dreams. Today we were really concentrated, the focus was on what we had to do, and my companions did a phenomenal job ». So Jonathan Milan, after winning a stop (8/a), on the tour, the first Italian to succeed from 2019 to today. «I knew I should have waited as much as possible – he says – it was a type of final that I really like. The level here is very high and this point I can say that we deserved it. Tomorrow we will try again. It is a victory that means a lot for me and, after this very long fasting, also for Italy ».
