Mondello Prize, Anna Mallamo wins with “I see it with the dark”. In first place also Ciabatti and San Pietro

The winners of the fifty -one edition of the Mondello International Literary Award were proclaimed: they are Anna Mallamo with “with the dark I see it” (Einaudi), Teresa Ciabatti with “Donnaregina” (Mondadori), e Leonardo San Pietro with “party with casuario” (Sellerio) for the Italian Opera section.

Tommaso Braccini with “adventures and misadventures of the classics” (Carocci) e Thea Rimini With “Resistant characters. The literary and cinematographic imagination of the anti -fascist struggle” (Treccani) win the Mondello Critici prize.

A special prize goes to Carlo Greppi For “my daughter. Life of Franca Jarach, Desaparecida” (Laterza) and Rosa Matteucci For “Cartaglore” (Adelphi).

The winners were chosen by a selection committee made up of literary writers and critics Evelina Santangelo, Gaetano Savatteri And Igiaba Scegowith the participation of Maria Concetta di Natalepresident of Fondazione Sicilia, e Annalena Benini, editorial director of the Turin International Book Fair.

“Donnaregina”, “with the dark I see it”, “party with random”, the three winners of the Italian Opera Prize, will undergo the vote of one hundred and twenty “strong readers” indicated by twenty -four bookstores throughout Italy. Readers’ preferences will be expressed with the online vote and will decrease the winner of the Supermondello Prize.

In parallel, a jury of 130 secondary school students in Sicily will identify the winner of the Mondello Giovani prize. To the best three judgments written by the students, the selection committee will award the prize to the best motivation. The awards will be delivered on the occasion of the award ceremony which will take place in Palermo on December 2nd.
