It was officially Signed the memorandum of understanding between the second “Calispera” Municipality of the Municipality of Messina and the Cedav (Centro Women Anti -violence APS – ETS of Messina), have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at promoting shared actions to contrast male violence against women.
The president Davide Siracusano, welcoming the attendees pointed out that the initiative was promoted by the vice -president of the second municipality, Giovanni Danzi, who, during a council session, highlighted the severity and topicality of the phenomenon of gender -based violence, underlining how it concerns the entire community. The proposal immediately met appreciation from me and received the unanimous approval of the entire Council of the II Municipality.
“Vice -president Giovanni Danzi – he said: it is our duty to arrive before the phenomenon resulted in violence and we must already intervene when there are the first alarm signs, this goal can only be achieved if there are permanent listening and knowledge tools on how certain dynamics are faced”. The protocol gives the start to a real support phase, where citizens and towns can draw advice and ask for help, the municipality also provides a space inside the institutional office at the San Filippo stadium, for the performance of the information desk and listening by the operators of the Cedav, to offer listening, orientation and support to those who live situations of discomfort, violence or simply want to have advice on dysfunctional behaviors perceived towards him.
To sign the protocol were the president of the second municipality, Davide Siracusano, and the president of Cedav, Avv.ta Maria Gianquinto, in the presence of institutional, school and religious representatives of the territory.
With the start of the protocol – said President Davide Siracusano – the second municipality intends to strengthen the concrete commitment in the fight against gender -based violence, working in synergy with an authoritative reality such as Cedav and involving schools, parishes and institutions present in the territory. Only by networking can we produce change and culture of mutual respect.
The lawyer Maria Gianquinto, president of the Cedav, expressed great appreciation: «We are pleased to sign this agreement that strengthens the presence of our center in the area. The collaboration with local institutions is essential to prevent and intervene promptly on cases of violence “. This initiative hope is an example for other local realities. The counter, as well as the anti -violence center, guarantees, anonymity, confidentiality and gratuitousness of the services.
