A tourist structure equipped with swimming pool, relaxation area, bars and changing rooms was seized by the Carabinieri of the Nas of Reggio Calabria. The area, of estimated value of 450,000 eurosit was completely without the minimum safety requirements and carried out in the absence of any authorization, within an area subject to landscape constraints.
The measure arose during the extraordinary checks arranged in the context of the “Quiet Summer 2025” operation, conducted nationally by the Carabinieri Command for the protection of health. The initiative aims to guarantee adequate safety and quality standards in places frequented by tourists during the summer season, with particular attention to the protection of public health.
During the inspections carried out along the coastal strip of the Reggina province, the military found serious irregularities in a structure that offered recreational and bathing services to vacationers. The entire complex, including a swimming system and reception areas for the public, was aimed at any building permit and health authorization. In addition, its location in an area subjected to landscape constraints further aggravated the position of any managers.
The criminal seizure was also arranged in the light of recent tragic episodes related to the lack of safety of plants and recreational structures. The controls by the NAS will continue throughout the summer season, with the aim of preventing situations potentially dangerous for the health and safety of citizens.
The operation testifies to the commitment of the police in guaranteeing a safe and serene summer for residents and tourists, and in contrasting all forms of abusiveness and violation of environmental and health norms.
