The joint checks of the State Police and the Coast Guard continue unabated Along the Tyrrhenian coast of the Reggina province to guarantee the safety of bathers and boaters. Last weekend, between Villa San Giovanni and Favazzinathe police have intensified supervision at sea, also responding to numerous reports of citizens.
In particular, on Sunday, the agents and the military intervened following several alarms launched by swimmers for dangerous behavior by drivers of water motion too close to the shore. The checks carried out brought to light a long series of irregularities.
Violations were found to the rules on the distance limit from the coast, risky maneuvers in the presence of bathers and other naval units, as well as serious administrative shortcomings: absence of the nautical license, incomplete or non -compliant documentation, and lack of compulsory insurance. The financial statements of the operation is heavy: 14 high administrative penalties, for a total of about 12,000 euros, and the seizure of three water motorcycles.
The activity, coordinated by the Reggio Calabria Police Headquarters and planned in the technical table after the last meeting of the Committee for Order and Public Security chaired by the Prefect, saw the use of a substantial device: two water police water bikes, a drone of the Police Headquarters, the helicopter of the V Flight Department and two naval units of the Coast Guard.
The controls will continue throughout the summer with the aim of preventing and contrasting behaviors that can put safety at sea at risk.
