“The special event in memory of Gigi Marulla, mythical and unforgettable captain of Cosenza Calcio, scheduled for Saturday 19 July, ten years after his death, will take place regularly.” The announcement is by the mayor Franz Caruso who intervened on the story concerning the refusal of the concession for the use of the San-Vito Marulla stadium by the company that manages it. A decision considered unacceptable to which in the last 48 hours there have been a series of meetings at Palazzo dei Bruzi, during which the municipal administration has carried out a clear line and determines with the sole objective of giving the city the opportunity to live serenely the event organized in memory of Gigi Marulla.
The interlocutions with the company of Cosenza Calcio and the technical table that had been formalized since yesterday morning, ended a few minutes agomaking common sense prevail. The company of Cosenza Calcio thus intended to respond positively to the intransigent and rigorous invitation of the mayor Franz Caruso and the entire administration, also thanks to the meritorious work in this sense carried out by the manager of the Arch. Next Saturday 19th July, therefore, starting from 7 pm the meritorious figure of Gigi Marulla will be remembered in a mixed triangular with the old glories of Cosenza Calcio, Cosenza for Special, Ultrà Cosenza, Curva Sud and Curva Nord. The proceeds from the initiative will be donated to charity to La Terra di Piero, the association engaged in the construction of the house of Denis in Mozambique, a humanitarian project born in memory of another young symbol of Cosenza solidarity.
