The wind, the sea and the passion for sailing this weekend animated Messina, where the ASD Vela Mare 83 of Briga Marina organized the Italian Sunfish class championship, with Three days of regattas from 18 to 20 July which saw the participation of sailors from all over Italy to challenge each other among the Boe in the Strait.

The Sunfish is among the sailing boats, with a single crew person, more widespread in the world: just over 4 meters long, it is recognized for the characteristic Latin sail. During the three days of regattas, eight tests were played in which the Sunfish fleet, gathered in Brig Marina, had to compare with the typical weather conditions of the Strait of Messina characterized by medium intensity wind and the inevitable current.

The victory of the championship went to the Messina area Antonio Liotta of the Tennis and Sailing of Messina who graduated Italian champion Sunfish for the third time, followed by Francesco Scuderi and Marcello Alvearioboth of the Italian Naval League Section of Messina.

The women’s title went to Madalina Petreawhile among the Juniores (under 18) he imposed himself Luca Stellaccioboth bearers of the LNI of Pomezia. Finally, the title in the Grand Master category (over 60) won by Lelio Bonanno of the CTV Messina.
