The Undersecretary for Relations with Parliament, Matilde Siracusano, interrupted the collaboration with his particular secretary, Paolo Posteraro, involved in an investigation for corruption of the Catanzaro prosecutor together with the president of the Calabria Region, Roberto Occhiuto.
The decision was made official with a letter, made known today by Il Fatto Quotidiano, in which the exponent of the Meloni government explains that the breakdown is due to sentences pronounced by post theoreor in conversations intercepted by the investigators. Although not relevant for the investigation, these statements – according to Syracusan – would have damaged his personal and institutional reputation, feeding illications and possible exploitation.
Siracusano recalled that he had chosen posterale by virtue of the curriculum and the trust accrued in the last legislature, but underlined how this trust “failed irreversiblely” due to behaviors deemed false and devaluing.
“It is unacceptable – he wrote – that someone may suspect that my political decisions are conditioned by factors unrelated to my autonomous assessments”. The decree of cessation of the assignment will come into force on August 15th.
