The Port Authority of Milazzo has intensified, on the horseback riding days, the patrol activities at sea and along the coast. During these checks, in the afternoon today, the fast boat of the GC B 168 coast guard engaged in supervisory activities along the Litoral of Levante di Milazzo, intercepted a water motorcycle in navigation at a speed supported along the coastal strip. Despite the repeated visual and acoustic signals arranged by the unit to be able to perform a check in the Acquascooter, the two occupants of the water motorcycle continued the race and has entered high speed in the water mirror reserved for bathing, creating danger for the swimmers present.
Once near the shoreline, the two drivers abandoned the unit, running away on foot, and leaving the vehicle unattended on the beach among the bathers. A patrol from the Port Authority of the Port of Milazzo was also sent to the scene, which started immediate investigations for the identification of the managers, currently unknown. The motorcycle of water, conducted in violation of the provisions of the seaside safety order (navigation at a distance of less than 500 meters from the coast, transit in the water mirror reserved for bathing without the use of launching corridors and abandonment of the vehicle on the shoreline), was placed under seizure and transferred by sea to the moorings of the Coast Guard inside the port of Milazzo.
