Regional in Calabria, the first surveys arrive but it is clash. According to a survey of the EMG/Masia Institute, made between 22 and 23 August on a sample of a thousand citizens, the verdict would be clear: the outgoing governor Roberto Occhiuto (Forza Italia, center -right) would obtain 60% of the preferences, while the former president of the INPS Pasquale Tridico, supported by the 5 Star Movement and Democratic Party, would stop at 37%.

But the survey was harshly criticized by Davide Tavernise (M5S) who expressed strong doubts. “Another” miracle “by Roberto Occhiuto. This time we are not talking about public works never built or of promises left on paper, but of a survey that seems to have come out of a laboratory of magic rather than by an independent research institute. According to the EMG/Masia detection, widespread today, Occhiuto would be clearly ahead of the candidate Pasquale Tridico. Too bad that there is a detail impossible to ignore: Tridico was officially nominated on 23. August, while the survey is carried out on 22 and 23 August.

But, according to Tavernise, “there is an even more serious fact that shows an enormous conflict of interest: the company that has packaged the survey has a contract with the Calabria Region. It is clear that we are not talking about an independent investigation, but of an operation put at the service of the propaganda of the resigning president. The goal is clear and is certainly not to inform citizens. The public debate and trying to discourage the opponent’s field.

From the center -right, however, the strength of the real consent collected by the outgoing president in recent years is underlined, and the reading of data as confirmation of the solidity of his leadership. It is now possible to understand how much the surveys numbers will be able to translate into concrete votes. The definitive word, as always, will be up to the polls.
