The ordinance issued by the mayor of Coriano Rossano Flavio Stasi fell into the void that ordered the province of Cosenza to intervene for the urgent safety of the property of the former firefighters’ barracks in the historic center of Rossano.
Fifteen days after the notification of the act nothing has changed. The property always presents itself with the vandalized entrance, with the door tied which makes it the subject of continuous night incursions and the receptacle of waste and the two disused columns of petrol still there. Yesterday afternoon there was the inspection of the urban policemen to ascertain whether or not it had intervened. The municipal body, therefore, must now replace the province that has not complied with what was requested.
The councilor Tonino Uva had also intervened on the state of degradation of the property, but nothing has moved.
The building of the former Fire Brigade barracks is owned by the Province, but for decades it has been in a state of serious neglect, general and structural, with partial sagging and collapses, which constitute a danger to public and private safety.
