Reggio Calabria is the Calabrian province with the greatest taxation on small businesses (54.4%), while Catanzaro proves, with two less points (52.3%), the one with less pressure against a panorama in which the southern regions are the most burdened.
The study “Municipality you go to the Found” made by the CNA tax observatory, identifying the tax free days for each province in Italy, or the date of the year that marks the border between the period of time when the company worked to pay taxes and the subsequent one in which the earnings were used for personal consumption, says so.
The reference year is 2024 and the investigation sees once again in the highest peaks in the ranking the northern territories, while the southern ones are the most taxed. The high tax burden emerges from the study, it often combines with less efficiency of the management and quality of the services offered to citizens and businesses. In particular, the territorial differences reflect the regional and municipal additional income, the IMU and the taxation for waste collection and management.
Overall, the territorial divergence stands around 11 points as the previous year.

The comment of President Cna Calabria
“With these numbers it is difficult to do business -it is the comment of the President of the CNA Calabria Giovanni Cugliari -. Small companies are found in the South to deal with a high taxation without being able to count on the quality of the services of those regions of the North which, on the contrary, have less tax burden. A high taxation makes investments more difficult, that’s why we have to work to lighten it and give greater oxygen to the small business, real spine of the country”.
