The port of Gioia Tauro, the first container port of Italy and Hub of transhipment in the heart of the Mediterranean, today lives a season of profound transformation. Looking at it from above it looks like a single large construction site area: everywhere vehicles, teams of workers and cranes that do not raise only containers, but also pieces of the future of the Calabrian airport. Behind the fences of the works, PNRR resources are intertwined, ministerial funds, funding from the port system authority and private investments. A mosaic that, if completed on scheduled times, could redesign the role of the infrastructure at an international level and change the economic prospects of an entire territory.
