The ongoing election campaign has strongly seen Palestine’s drama emerge as a central theme, a topic that has found echo in today’s strike and in the manifestations of solidarity. In an interview with the sidelines of the events, Enza Bruno Bossioparliamentary and candidate, has connected the political ethics that emerged from the Palestinian question to the campaign for the regional elections in Calabria, strongly supporting the candidate Tridic. “Why should Calabria be governed by Tridico? Why is Tridic represents these interests, the interests of the last, the interests of the people, not the interests of business,” he said.

Describing Tridico as a “non -political,” but a “citizen like the others” and an “important university professor,” expressed the belief that the Calabrian people will vote for him, regardless of the polls. “I am nominated, but I prefer that only Tridico votes, who put a cross – concluded – reiterating the importance of a government that puts the law and interests of the people to everything else.

Criticisms in Netanyahu

Enza Bruno Bossio also expressed his profound concern for the situation in Gaza, hardly criticizing the conduct of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The Bossio, who follows the Palestinian question since its entry into Parliament in 2013 and visited Palestine in 2014, has a clear opinion: “It is clear that on October 7th it was only an excuse, certainly a dramatic excuse because surely the lives that are still in the hands of Hamas are important all the others, but they do not justify the genocide that is doing Netanyahu.”

According to the political exponent, Israel’s military action has passed the legitimate response to Hamas, transforming itself into a persecution aimed at destroying the Palestinian people to its origins. “You can take it with Hamas, you take it with the soldiers, but you don’t take it with women and children,” he put on. “It is the feeling that he is doing a genocide in the sense that he wants to destroy this people to the origins, killing children and women who live substantially procreate, they give life.”

The Bossio also underlined the historical and identity importance of Gaza as “Palestinian place,” rejecting any attempt to alter this reality. The recent manifestations, according to him, “are finally a lighthouse on the suffering of a people who today risks being destroyed.”

No exploitation, only moral duty

Facing the accusations of riding the Palestinian suffering for electoral purposes, the Bossio replied firmly: “I repeat, I personally follow them for over ten years. It is certainly not exploitation.” On the contrary, he pointed the finger at those who “substantially use this suffering to say that we must not ride it, or rather, those who are mainly shut up with a bridge to the crimes of Netanyahu.”

The candidate harshly criticized the position of the Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni regarding activists arrested in international waters, guilty of having tried to break the embargo, calling it a violation of fundamental rights. “If there had not been the flotilla, this lighthouse would not have been turned on,” he said, recalling to memory episodes of alleged censorship by Rai for the use of the word “genocide,” a term that today, in his opinion, everyone uses why “this is it.”
