Negotiations between Russia and Ukraine remain “very difficult” due to the “enormous hatred” between the two countries. US President Donald Trump declared this while speaking at the “Shield of the Americas” summit at his golf club in Doral.
“We’ll see what happens – said Trump – we were close many times to closing an agreement, but one side or the other backed out”.
“A favor to Europe”
The US president then added that the conflict does not directly concern the United States: «We are not really losing. They are losing. It doesn’t concern us much because an ocean separates us.”
Finally, Trump underlined that the United States’ commitment to negotiations is also linked to international balances: “I’m doing it as a favor to Europe.”
