US President Donald Trump posted a message on the Truth platform in which he stated that Iran’s plans to conquer the entire Middle East and annihilate Israel “are now dead.” According to Trump, Iran does not possess the capacity to defend any of its strategic positions and will never be able to develop nuclear weapons or threaten the United States, the Middle East or the entire world.
“The Iranian military and everyone else involved in this terrorist regime would do well to lay down their weapons and save what is left of their country, which is not much,” the American president added, underlining the might of the US military, “the most lethal, powerful and effective force, by far, in the world,” rebuilt during his first term. However, Trump warned that should Iran or anyone else attempt to interfere with the free and safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz, his administration will “immediately reconsider” any decisions made in this regard.

In recent days, around 15 explosions and columns of thick smoke have been reported during US attacks on the Iranian island of Kharg. Despite this, according to the Fars news agency, affiliated to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (the Pasdaran), no oil infrastructure was damaged. Fars reported that the attacks targeted military defense systems, the Joshan port, the airport tower and the helicopter base, but Iranian defenses prevented damage to the oil sites.
Previously, Trump had said that all military facilities on the island had been hit, highlighting a discrepancy between the American and Iranian versions of the effects of the attacks.
