Explosion at a Jewish school in Amsterdam
An explosion occurred during the night at a Jewish school in Amsterdam, in the Amsterdam-Buitenveldert district: this was announced by the mayor Femke Halsema, quoted by the Dutch news agency ANP. Halsema spoke of a deliberate “act of aggression” against this school, adding that the damage caused by the explosion “was limited”. The police are analyzing surveillance camera footage showing the individual suspected of having detonated the bomb.
The attack in the Dutch capital was claimed by an Islamic group
An Islamic group has claimed responsibility for this morning’s attack on a Jewish school in Amsterdam, publishing a video that appears to show the explosion of a bomb. The Times of Israel reports this, referring to a video posted by the Islamic Movement of the Companions of the Right.
The newly formed extremist group has also been linked to several other anti-Semitic attacks in recent days, including a similar explosion yesterday outside a synagogue in Rotterdam, which caused a brief fire and damage to the building, and for which four suspects were arrested by Dutch police.
