After the Province, with President Corrado L’Andolina who in recent days urged the Prefecture and the higher-level bodies to intervene in providing answers (which have not yet arrived) to the road emergency in the Vibonese area which worsened after the recent cyclones, it is now the mayors who are appealing to the territorial office of the government.
The first citizens of almost all the municipalities of the province – with the exception of the capital municipality, the commissioner municipalities and the municipality of Zambrone (whose mayor, as president of the Province has already activated all the institutional channels to deal with the situation) – have in fact appealed to the prefect, Anna Aurora Colosimo, to ask for the adoption of measures in consideration of the infrastructural criticalities that arise in the territories. In particular, the mayors asked for the convening of a coordination table in the Prefecture, with the participation of representatives of the national government, the Region and the Province.
But above all, a request was produced for the formal activation of the Government for the establishment of an ad hoc mission structure (or commissioner management) dedicated exclusively to the road emergency in the Vibo area. This structure must be equipped with: extraordinary and derogating powers for the assignment and execution of the works in a very short time; extraordinary and immediately feasible financial resources, outside of ordinary budget constraints, for the restoration of road safety and the prevention of the risk of isolation.
